016: Science, Entertainment, Profession or Hobby?- The Paranormal Guide Weekly Podcast
Wednesday Feb 20, 2013
Wednesday Feb 20, 2013
Welcome to podcast 016! This week we talk about whether we think the 'paranormal field' is more for science or entertainment, a profession or a hobby. As always, we have many different opinions on the subject, with each of the team giving their own perspectives. At times we do run a little of course but that is becuase this is a huge subject and we can get a little carried away at times. Still as always we give it our best! 'Feet on the Street' asks the public whether they think paranormal research and investigation is a valid field. Interestingly enough the majority give the same response, as to what that is, you will have to listen to find out. We interview Alison Oborn from Paranormal Field Investigators and ask about changes within the field over the last 24 years. Alison talks about her reasons for entering the field, what it meant to investigate 'back in the day' and how different types of people are now getting involved. Listener's question asks 'What needs to be done for the paranormal field to be taken more seriously?' Vampyre Heart takes us out with 'Crypt'. 013: Season One Final Episode - The Paranormal Guide Weekly Podcast
Wednesday Oct 24, 2012
Wednesday Oct 24, 2012
Welcome to podcast 013! This week is a little bitter sweet as podcast 013 heralds the end of season one. For fourteen weeks (when you include podcast 000) we have delved into many and varied paranormal topics to present to you our thoughts and opinions. This week we are joined by Lyn and Wes our newest team members who join in on all the fun and memories. Please forgive the slightly hollow sound as we were recording somewhere new as we had our wrap party following this show (a lovely Sunday Beer and BBQ Bonanza!) We have interviewed many fantastic guests on the show and to all of you a massive thanks. Our shows structure and topic each week is based on who we have managed to snare for an interview so really without you all our shows would be very much different. We look back on some of our favourite moments and achievements before we tackle the many listeners questions we recieved for this episode. Some of them were very straight forward while some of the others took a little more discussion... and some of our answers may be seen as controversial but you are only getting our own personnal truths. Finally we thank all of the bands and artists who have allowed us the use of their music on the show but we managed to leave someone out (as always)... A HUUGE thankyou to Kevin Macleod who makes fantastic free and royalty free music. We have used quite a lot of it and the opening theme was also composed by him. Thankyou! So please join us as we sit in on one final episode for 2012. Do not fear as we will be back in early 2013 with an even better show! Until then... 012: Disembodied Voices and EVP's - The Paranormal Guide Weekly Podcast
Wednesday Oct 17, 2012
Wednesday Oct 17, 2012
Welcome to podcast 012! This week we discuss disembodied voices and EVP's (Electronic Voice Phenomenon). As paranormal investigators we deal with the tw types of communication quite often. Not always capturing good examples of them but rather trying to experiment with it. We talk quite in depth about some of our experiences both personnal and as a team aswell as some of the equipmwnt we use. Feet on the Street asks 'Do you believe the voices of ghosts and spirits can be recorded?' We were suprised with some of the answers we recieved. We interview Alison Oborn (her third time on the show) and talk about some of her favourite EVP's and give you all a chance to hear them for yourselves. Alison has been investigating for several decades and during that time she has captured many EVP's. Most have now been debunked by herself so she plays us some of what is left over so you can decide for yourself. Warning... you may want head phones on as they do sound better with the sound travelling straight into your ears. Listeners question asks 'What is the strangest question you have asked in a EVP session?' A great question and one we have some fun answering. We have been in many places and situations so we have had many opportunities to ask some bizarre questions! Cyclosa takes us out with 'Taking Over Me'. 008: Evidence and Experience - The Paranormal Guide Weekly Podcast
Wednesday Sep 19, 2012
Wednesday Sep 19, 2012
Welcome to Podcast 008: Evidence and Experience. In this episode we are looking at paranormal experience VS paranormal evidence and what we think is more important. We take a look at our own experience and evidence and discuss what is more important to someone we are trying to empart that information too. 'Feet on the Street' asks people at a social event (Debbie likes to party alot) 'what experience or evidence do you require to convince you a location is haunted?'An interesting question for some and as always we get a wide range of answers. We interview Don Meers; film maker and paranormal explorer. Although not a paranormal investigator himself Don has woked with many investigators for his various paranormal series. We ask Don to share his experiences looking into the world of the paranormal through the cameras lens. Listeners question this week comes from Peet Banks (APPI) who asks: 'If you think you've caught something pretty phenomenal, what processes do you go through to try and debunk the evidence? Let's say it was something on video, for arguments sake.'. As always we tackle this question and each of us more or less have our own answers. This week playing us out is 'Todd Sibbin and the Opposite Ends' and their track 'Lies, Lies, Lies' from their album 'Waiting for me to say'. 006: Ghost Tours; The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - The Paranormal Guide Weekly Podcast
Wednesday Sep 05, 2012
Wednesday Sep 05, 2012
Welcome to this weeks podcast! This is a rather interesting show as we take a look at ghost tours... not in specifics but more in general. We open the show by discussing some of the ghost tours we have been on (this was recorded prior to my visit to Casula Powerhouse btw) then get a little more stuck in on the types of tours we enjoy. There are many different types of tours out there ranging to your walking street tours to the overnight haunted investigation stays. 'Feet on the Street' asks the public 'What do you expect from a ghost tour?'. As always the answers are quite varied but run along a simple theme. Our interview is with Alison Oborn who owns and operatse 'Adelaides Haunted Horizons' south australias Premiere Tour company. We hit alison with some heavy questions including 'Why are some tours so expensive?'. We also get to hear both the good and the bad about tours from Alison who has the operators perspective. Our Listeners question comes from Kathy who asks 'How do we choose a ghost tour to go on; is there any specific things we look for?' Paul also throws his own question at the team 'If we could tour anywhere in the world where would you go?' Adelaides 'Cyclosa' finishes off our show with their song Chaos Unfolds. I hope you like your music HARD! so there you go, another jam packed episode. See you next time! Friday Aug 31, 2012
Friday Aug 31, 2012
Here we have the full and uncut interview with Christopher Saint Booth who appeared on The Paranormal Guide Weekly Podcast 005: Paranormal Documentaries. In this interview we as Chris how he and his brother Philip got involved in the movie making business and how they came about making documentaries all about the 'unknown'. When then dive into 'Unseen', the Booth Brothers latest project. Unseen contains all the parts of their documentaries that were cut out before distribution. The Reasons for these cuts are many and varied and Chris gives us a run down on how certain controversial topics do not make it into the final releases. We also ask whether the Booth Brothers are likely to move into other paranormal topics outside of the more spiritual realms. We get a great answer and one that should leave UFO enthusiasts very excited! We end the interview with three questions from fans, one strange request and of course our usual three questions we put to all of our guests. Take a listen, this was a fantastic interview! 003: What is a Lightworker? - The Paranormal Guide Weekly Podcast
Wednesday Aug 15, 2012
Wednesday Aug 15, 2012
Welcome to Weekly Podcast 003! What is a Lightworker? This podcast was a little more challenging than usual as normally the majority of The Paranormal Guide Team knows at least something about the subject. When it comes to Lightworkers only the team medium Tash had knowledge as such Tash does a majority of the speaking and pretty much carries the show (thankfully!) Debbie once again hits the streets and asks people whether they think positive energy can help out when it comes to dealing with negative spirits. We get some awesome responses and are once again suprised by the knowledge some of the public has on the subject. We interview Andrea Kaldy from 'Validate' who has been a lightworker for a number of years. Andrea provides us with her own definition on what a lightworker is and gives us some examples on how her ability is put to use in the field. Atilla Kaldy also weighs in with his analytical eye on the subject. so there you go, a husband and wife team giving both perspectives. The listeners question comes in from Trijoni G who asks 'As a team or individually have we ever sought out the skills of a lightworker?' and 'Do we ever think we will come across a case or situation where will will need the services of a lightworker?' This weeks featured artist is 'Vintage Inc' and his experimental free form track 'Young Traveller'. This is a very awesome and chilled track to end our show! 002: Is investigating the paranormal dangerous? - The Paranormal Guide Weekly Podcast
Wednesday Aug 08, 2012
Wednesday Aug 08, 2012
Welcome back to the Paranormal Guide Weekly Podcast (There are a few gremlins in this recording and we are working on them) This week we are tackling the question 'Is investigating the paranormal dangerous?' The team, has a very brief discussion before we kick into the first segment. Debbie once again hits the streets and asks the public whether they think the paranormal and the research of the unknown can be dangerous. It would seem that Semaphore is quite well versed on this subject as the answers were all fairly well informed. Paul and Ash interview John Safran who labels himself a 'immersive documentary maker'. Having taken part in voodoo rituals, a crucifixion and a Exorcism John is very well placed to discuss our topic. Our listeners question comes from Brenton G who asks : 'Have you ever felt that you were in danger while investigating the paranormal?' Indeed, each of the team has but in different ways. Tash introduces 'Willydidj Djaykun' who is the artist that plays us out this week ending another massive show!
